January 5th, 2020 (1/5/2020), the District operator Municipal Operations & Consulting found the water supply from the NHCRWA is experiencing a slightly higher chlorine residual than days past. HCMUD 383 authorized the operator to start blending some of the District well water with the NHCRWA-provided surface water to offset the higher chlorine residual.
Some residents may be able to smell and/or taste the difference in the water while blending, and may also feel a difference in the water hardness. During this period of transition, the water continues to be safe to drink and use, as water quality was not impacted.
